That's probably what this "hidden app" is all about.  Basically, the iphone would be an Apple TV.  It allows you to store some media locally and then stream the rest of it.  Obviously, this is only practical (for now) over a wifi connection on the phone.  EDGE is by far too slow for video.  I'm not sure if it could do music, but maybe.  That would help to partially solve the lack of storage space on the device itself.
