I think that the ease of the Mac keystrokes and the tendency for developers to steer away from monolithic applications are two major factors for this.

And you're right, we aren't all 18 year old trendsetters flaunting our macs every chance we get. OK, Ok... maybe just the 18 year old part is true :)

Oh, and I like the term Stevebot, thats a good one!

Re: What’s your biggest Apple related pet peeve?

Well, I used to have the pet peeve that Nick Young did, but more and more lately, I think people are beginning to see the light. I don't get so many blank stares anymore, vague "oh" replays nor comparisons to Apple IIs for that matter. I think the constant I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC ads are pretty much working. When it comes to online drive-by media however, I am thoroughly annoyed at the characterization of Mac users as Stevebots or form-over-function trendies. If it was only form, and not function, then how come I'm about 10x more productive than anyone I know who uses a PC?

Re: What’s your biggest Apple related pet peeve?

I can honestly say that all of those really bug me. I guess no one thing bugs me the most. I just can't stand when people say... "You have a Mac?" in that surprised disgusted tone of voice. All I can think of is... "Damn right I have a Mac and its a hell of a lot cooler than your 4 year old Windows computer chalk full of Spyware, Malware, Adware, and all sorts of other evil junk."

Re: What’s your biggest Apple related pet peeve?

I hate it when people say "oh a MAC, I used to use one in high school/college" and they were using Mac Classics, poorly administered with no support. Then they compare this with their current PC, and have no idea how amazingly well designed, sensible, attractive and downright slick the Mac hardware + OS X combination is.
