I'm Roger. I'm 27 ... a single gay guy living in Houston. I'm a recent "switcher". I've worked with Windows for years as an IT support professional and decided to make the switch about 2 months ago.
I just couldn't resist the sexy black MacBook any longer. I used my income tax refund to buy my new Mac.
Thanks to all you bloggers out there, I've discovered many new handy Mac applications, tips, etc. Keep it up!

I'm Nick Young, and I'm a switcher. I've been using Windows computers for most of my life. While in college getting my BA Computer Science I used Linux based computers for 4 years and then continued using them once I graduated. Like you I learned to harness the power of the command line and that is one of the biggest draws to OS X for me. I don't have to worry about getting goofy ports of pearl/php for windows. I wish I had more time to code, but alas, the fun stuff always gets put on the back burner.
I switched to Mac because I was ready for something different. I was sick of the same ol' thing day in and day out. I never had a huge problem with spyware/malware as I was a pretty vigilant user, but the looming threat was still a constant worry. Having the power of the command line packaged with a clean usable interface hits the sweet spot for me.
My switching to Mac also prompted me to start up a blog Keynote2Keynote. I decided that it would be neat to document my experience as a Mac user.
In the real world I'm still trying to figure out what the hell I want to do with my life. I've dabbled here and there with a few things, but haven't found anything that I want to do as a career yet. I'm not in too much of a hurry though, because I'm a kid at heart and love the adventure of getting from point A to B more than actually being there.

This sounds all too much like an "AA" meeting. Hi. My name is Andy and I've been a Mac user for five years. Making the switch, if I recall, was quite sobering so it's actually a pretty good analogy.
Like many Mac users who made the switch from some piece of garbage PC (in my case a Gateway), I did so because I was in need of a powerhouse machine that could make easy work of the video editing and graphics based work I was doing. Enter the Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 with 2.5 GB Ram, 500 GB internal/1 TB External Hard Drive.
Add to that brilliant native programs like Final Cut Pro, Motion, Live Type, all the iApps...
I never looked back.

I'm Joshua, and I'm a Mac geek. I first switched three years ago. I was using a rutty old eMachine (truth be told, by then I had swapped out so many parts that the case and the IDE cables were about the only original eMachine parts) when I started the graphic design program at school. They were using Jaguar at the time, and I immediately fell in love. But alas! I could not afford one. A few months later, an incredible opportunity presented itself. My friend's mom had bought an iBook, but after a month didn't like it, but she couldn't return it. So she sold it to me with an awesome payment plan. Since then, I've added an Intel iMac to my collection, as well as the occasionaly ancient iMac or Apple II to tinker around with (those come and go, though).
As for what I do, I bartend, I blog, I take pictures, and I'm still in school, trying to figure out what to do with my life. So far, I've gotten four people to switch to Mac. I'm working on the rest.

I'm Zach. I'm 27, and my first computer was an Apple IIE. That was over 21 years ago though... last year I bought my MBPro, and I can't stand having to come to work and use this wretched PC. I'm a designer and a marketer, as well as a perpetual grad student (MA, lookin for a PhD next). Macs are just less of a headache - even for someone who can build a PC in his sleep and remembers allocating memory by hand in DOS to play video games.
One of these days I'm gonna get me a Mac Pro workstation - that is, once I get the money together for the new Adobe CS3 first ;)
All my friends either A) have already switched or B) realize they'res no reason to buy another PC now. Just waiting for them all to come to the light....

I am 49. As Zach my first computer was an Apple IIe*. I used it for programming multi image slide shows. I after that did the same on a few PCs and got into computer graphics and got my first Mac when they turned colour. Been an Apple boy ever since. Today I run a PowerBook G4, soon to be changed for a MacBook Pro. I do web site design and development on it.
* Before that I used to work with Pr1me and HP minicomputers, but that was in the 70's. Check my web for more on this.
